Our highly skilled stonemasons convert limestone and sandstone blocks from many quarries, into a variety of products. We supply all types of natural stonemasonry using both British and imported Limestones, Sandstones, Granite and Marble to restore existing and construct new structures. Working from our purpose-built factory in Ipswich, Suffolk our masons produce high quality bespoke natural stone products from blocks of stone (up to approximately 4m3 and weighing 10 tonnes) which are cut to size using our primary, secondary and profiling saws. All work is hand finished in our workshop.
Recent projects include Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedral, St Albans Cathedral, Westminster and Gonville & Caius Colleges in Cambridge and numerous churches in East Anglia.
Our projects have recently won the Civic Trust 2018 AABC Conservation award, The King of Prussia Gold Medal 2018 (highly commended), RIBA National Award 2017 for Conservation, RICS East of England Award 2017 and RICS National Awards 2017 for Building Conservation (highly commended).
About Us
Collins & Curtis was founded in Ipswich, Suffolk nearly 100 years ago, by two local stonemasons who wished to produce high quality natural stone products to the surrounding area.
These days, the business is owned by its managers and operates from a modern, purpose-built factory in Ipswich with its own on-site saw mill and fully equipped masons’ workshops.
We are a respected contractor, with a reputation for priding ourselves on attention to detail and producing quality stone products.
Many of our customers are involved in the restoration and conservation of listed and historic buildings. We advise our customers on types of stone, availability and techniques to ensure that any new stone supplied is fit for purpose and suitable for the intended use.
